Job summary

Distribution Engineers are responsible for designing and developing construction work packages for electrical distribution systems, including overhead, underground, and URD environments. Key duties include utilizing GIS, CAD, WMS, and other systems to create designs, performing engineering calculations such as structural pole analysis, cable pulling, and fault current assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

They may also handle tasks like forestry trimming requests, permit facilitation, developing BOMs, estimating costs, and customer advocacy related to easements and CIAC.

Qualifications include a BS degree and relevant utility experience; familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, MicroStation, pole loading software, and NESC standards is preferred. Strong communication skills and experience with distribution design projects are essential.
