Job summary

Watts Water Technologies in Sparks, NV is seeking a Distribution Center Supervisor to lead warehouse operations, ensure accurate receiving, storage and shipping, and drive continuous improvement in inventory processes. This role reports to the Distribution Center Manager and directly supervises 20+ employees in a fast-paced distribution environment.

The ideal candidate has a background in supply chain or logistics, at least 3 years of supervisory experience in warehousing, and strong proficiency

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in warehousing or logistics.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Lean knowledge or experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of distribution, transportation and supply chain concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Plan warehouse layouts considering turnover, size and weight of items.
  • Lead, train and supervise 20+ distribution center staff.
  • Ensure safe receiving, storage and shipping operations and enforce safety rules.
  • Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counts and discrepancy investigations.
  • Standardize procedures and create SOPs to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare daily metrics reports and address errors or complaints.

Scope of Position

The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehouse and inventory operations within a distribution environment to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient receiving, storage, and shipping activities. The role provides day‑to‑day leadership to warehouse staff, owns short‑term operational performance, enforces safety and operational standards, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to support inventory accuracy and operational effectiveness. The position reports to the Distribution Center Manager and has direct supervisory responsibility for 20 or more employees in a distribution environment, with limited travel, as required.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans layout of warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped.
  • Determines methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock, and related tasks.
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
  • Oversees activities of daily cycle count program.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Standardizes work procedures and creates SOPs to improve efficiency of warehouse operations.
  • Prepares composite reports for daily key metrics.
  • Addresses errors and complaints.
  • Interprets company policies and enforces safety regulations.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and productivity records.
  • Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.
  • Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and abide by safety rules.
  • Must report any job‑related injury and/or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
  • Must maintain attendance and punctuality standards as established by company.
  • Directly supervises 20+ employees in the distribution center.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualitifications
  • Associates or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or similar and/or 3-5+ years in a managerial role in manufacturing, warehouse or inventory control setting
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in warehousing and logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word is required
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Understanding of LEAN business practices is preferred
  • Working knowledge of distribution, transportation, and supply chain concepts.
  • Familiar with procedures, logistics for major home stores including palletizing, load balancing, height and width restrictions, pallet overhang restrictions, pallet wrap and banding requirements, pallet specifications.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working on‑site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Sparks, NV location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
