Job summary

The Distribution Center Senior Manager – Local Distribution Center Manager will lead day-to-day operations at the site, driving SOP adherence, P&L management, and employee leadership. The role includes short-term leadership at underperforming facilities and eventual long-term placement at a site, with relocation required.

Travel up to 75% and flexibility to adapt as the distribution model evolves are essential.

Qualifications

4-year degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Operations, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years relevant experience in warehouse distribution or transportation.
Must be open to immediate relocation and travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

Oversee all distribution center operations: shipping, receiving, inventory control and route management.
Ensure SOPs are applied to meet KPIs.
Protect assets including inventory, equipment and facilities.
Maintain facility, equipment and vehicles; resolve issues affecting operations.
Manage labor, delivery and variable costs to align with plans.
Drive accountability, training and safety.
Collaborate with Wholesale/Franchise teams to meet SLAs and improve service.
Foster an Employer of Choice culture and employee experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet site goals.

Description

The Distribution Center Senior Manager – Local Distribution Center Manager is responsible for day-to-day operational excellence of the site, ensuring consistent application of standard operating procedures & policies and Key Performance Indicators are achieved. This role is responsible for site financials including P&L management and will lead and manage all employment related activity for site team members. Initially this role will provide short-term site leadership to vacant or underperforming distribution centers as needed before being placed long-term at a facility. Ability to relocate is required. This role must be flexible and adaptable as the Distribution business model continues to evolve.

Responsibilities

Oversee all elements of distribution center operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and route management. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all picking, receiving, put away, load/ship of all orders, product returns.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently applied to achieve operational performance indicators.
Responsible for the protection of company assets which includes inventory, equipment, and facility.
Maintains the facility, equipment, and vehicles and will resolve any issues which may interfere with the safe, efficient, and fiscally responsible operation of the Distribution Center.
Manage labor, delivery, and other variable costs within the Distribution Center to align with annual business plans.
Drive team member accountability and performance ensuring company policies are administered appropriately.
Drive company safety initiatives to ensure safe and on time delivery of products to customers inclusive of specific safety performance requirements (TRIR-Total Reportable Incidence Rate) and Preventable Accident rates)

Additional Responsibilities

Collaborate with Wholesale and Franchise sales teams to meet established service level agreements and identify opportunities for improved customer service
Drive initiatives that foster an Employer of Choice environment and employee experience
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals for site
Ensure compliance with the company and regulatory training to ensure that staff is equipped to perform assigned duties.
Partners with Human Resources to lead the execution of employment cycle activities for team members within site, including hiring, training, performance management and succession.
Observe operations with a critical eye, bringing forth ideas for continuous improvement updates or redesigns of Standard Operating Procedures to improve efficiency, cost, or customer satisfaction.
Lead implementation of building initiatives related to technology, cost containment, inventory management, safety, training, engagement, etc. Ensure successful adoption of new behaviors and skills needed for new expectations.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and allocation to meet operational and financial goals while maintaining a standard of excellence in customer service.
Travel up to 75%

Qualifications

A 4-year degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Operations, Business or other related disciplines is preferred or equivalent experience in warehouse distribution or transportation environment.
Demonstrated management experience including leadership and motivational ability, time management and organizational skills, training, coaching and counseling preferred
Must be open to immediate relocation
Must be willing to travel up to 75% until placed in a facility full-time
Proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Ability to work well under pressure (prioritize, manage time, maintain composure.)
Knowledge of Lean methodology and proven success driving change in a dynamic environment
Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience
Safety 1st Mentality
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds while bending and twisting
Must maintain a current driver’s license
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights holidays and weekends, as needed.
24/7 access to cell phone, email and security system in case of an emergency
ERP system and Routing Software experience is a plus.
High level of professional integrity
Bilingual in Spanish /English is a plus
