Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company is seeking a Distribution Center Planner to develop and execute stock distribution plans across the network. The role supports Rheem North America and partners with Inventory Planning & Capacity Management to balance supply and service at multiple sites.

The position follows a hybrid work arrangement with in-office C/W four days and remote on Fridays, based in San Antonio, TX, or other U.S. sites. Strong analytical, Excel, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain valid distribution requirement plans by reviewing MPS and capacity.
• Manage shelf-life and quality constraints while balancing stock.
• Coordinate with Demand Management, Logistics, Customer Service and Supply Planning.
• Optimize distribution cost while maintaining service levels and availability.
• Monitor inventory vs targets and adjust plans during peak/low seasons.
• Define near-term distribution and warehousing needs.
• Identify and reduce excess inventory and prevent stockouts.
• Provide visibility into warehouse capacity, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain master data and planning parameters for streamlined planning.
• Identify risks in network activity and address capacity/execution issues.
• Communicate transportation disruptions and options to ensure timely delivery.
• Drive corrective actions to address fill rate issues and excess stock.
• Maintain item segmentation and target inventory levels.

Job Description

The Distribution Center Planner develops, updates, generates, and executes the stock distribution requirement plan for the network while supporting the effectiveness of the local market supply chain and customer service. This role has a direct link to the Inventory Planning & Capacity Manager to represent distribution constraints for the purposes of Master Capacity Planning.

This position will support Rheem North America, based in San Antonio, TX, Fort Smith, AR, Lewisville, TX, Pine Brook, NJ, or Atlanta, GA. This role follows our hybrid work arrangement, with team members working in the office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Creates and Maintains Valid Achievable Distribution Requirement plans through reviewing SKU level MPS plans and capacity considerations from source of supply


• Manages shelf-life and quality constraint requirement while balancing and moving stock in the network


• Constant Liaison with Demand Management, Logistics, Customer Service and Supply planning


• Reviews the network to assess how to best optimize distribution cost while maintaining service level, replenishment objectives and high product availability


• Monitor inventory against stock targets, pre-build plans, and service levels during low and peak seasonality trends and takes swift actions


• Defines near term distribution and warehousing requirements


• Facilitate the reduction of excess inventory and out of stocks, and work to manage near term issues


• Accountable for providing a view of all the warehouse capacity constraints, risks of violation, and opportunities to lift these constraints


• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of key master data elements and planning data, not limited to planning parameters, to ensure planning is streamlined and effective


• Identify issues in the network activity, assess upcoming risks or issues in terms of execution or capacity in the S&OE horizon


• Accountable for informing on transportation disruptions and options to ensure the required goods are in place on time


• Drives actionable plans for excess inventory, slow-movers, no-movers, returns, dysfunctional stock


• Identify and prioritize root causes of fill rate issues and excess inventory, and drive corrective actions across cross-functional teams


• Maintain item segmentation, target inventory levels and quality of inventory


• Manage Finished Goods Inventory through the life cycle management process


• Track and report out key performance indicators (KPIs)


• Working with Supply and Inventory Analysis Partner:




• Review inventory policies and determine optimal updates on a monthly – quarterly basis


• Develop inventory targets and safety stock including min/max alongside reporting mechanisms to understand key KPIs and metrics


• Publish inventory reports and perform analysis on an as-needed basis




• Ongoing development of role in relation to business requirements is required as new tasks can be assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience


• Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience


• Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, especially Excel


• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy


• Excellent problem-solving skills


• Some work in non-climate-controlled facility


• Sitting and walking for extended periods
