Job summary

OmniCable, LLC, a major distributor of wire, cable and related products, seeks a Distribution Center Manager in Missouri. You will lead a 50–60 person DC team, oversee daily order processing, inventory control, and transportation decisions, and ensure safety and cost control.

The role requires a seasoned leader with a results orientation, strong communication, and the ability to train and develop staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years distribution leadership experience.

What You’ll Do

In the role of Distribution Center Manager, you will lead a team of DC associates in all general Distribution Center (DC) activities. Such activities include overseeing day to day order processing, inventory control, and transportation decisions. Additional responsibilities include facility management, expense control, site safety and security.

This is a highly visible role. The right individual must be comfortable working with both local and national sales teams in a time sensitive, transactional work environment. Ideal candidate must be a confident, yet humble team player with a can-do attitude. Most importantly, a candidate must have a proven track record to lead, train and develop people in fast paced work environment.

Working Conditions

• This position will lead a team of 50 to 60 employees on all necessary activities
• This is a hands-on position. Individual must be comfortable driving a forklift and lifting up to 70 lbs. routinely throughout the day as you will be required to work alongside your team in satisfying the daily workload.
• Be available on-call for nights, weekends and holidays for after hour emergency orders

Work Experience

What You’ll Need:

• Minimum 7 to 10 years distribution experience in a leadership role
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills - must be detail oriented
• Prior experience working closely with a sales team
• Must be mechanically inclined enough to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
• Carrier selection and freight tendering experience
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Prior experience using WMS, TMS, and Microsoft Office software
• A calm, level-headed demeanor and positive attitude when dealing with stressful situations

Bonus

• Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Supply Chain and/or logistics
• Military training and/or experience
• Bilingual
