As a Distribution Center Manager, you will be responsible for the overall organization of warehouse facility in terms of “Order Fulfillment” shipping/receiving, put-away, cycle count, accuracy, handling, and delivery of warehouse inventory. You will be an essential part to the success of AWC, completing each function properly and exceeding our customers’ expectations.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Help maintain a positive workplace environment by displaying AWC’s company culture in everyday actions
  • Motivate employees to balance safety, quality, productivity and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Set and achieve outstanding goals for the DC in relation to Company Standards and Directives
  • Direct, guide, and promote teamwork within personnel
  • Ensure all operational processes and procedures are being followed
  • Ensure accuracy of the inbound/outbound process, Managing KPIs and adjust when necessary
  • Celebrate wins
  • Interaction with all local division personnel and management as well as companywide personnel
  • Oversee all daily DC operations including
  • Order fulfillment, inventory control and administration to ensure the highest level of the delivery process to enhance the customer experience
  • Perform safety audit of facility to ensure compliance with safety SOPs
  • Manage kitting, sub-assembly and other value-added requirements, using BOM (bill of materials) and follow a strict QC assembly instruction/process
  • Oversee weekly or occasional operations including:
  • Factory Returns
  • Inspect and process vendor damage and procures return to vendor authorizations
  • Damaged freight claims with carriers
  • DRP Cycle Counts and Quarterly Statistical Inventory Counts
  • Manage a neat and organized warehouse environment
  • Work with other DC Managers, offer ideas for improvement and active participation on team calls

Skills you’ll need:

  • 5 + years of experience within the industry, high volume, face pace, distribution environment
  • Excellence in internal/external customer service
  • Experience in selecting and interviewing process for potential open position within the warehouse, performance feedback, complete annual reviews and one-on-one with direct reports
  • Possess a sense of urgency for our customers’ and vendors’ requirements
  • Ability to creatively while problem-solving, independent thinker
  • Transportation/Logistics experience, small packaging and LTL shipping, use of online and stand-alone order fulfillment shipping systems
  • Work with transportation vendors and common carriers to provide on time, damage free and cost-efficient transportation
  • Practical working knowledge of MS Office and advance Excel
