Job summary

SouthernCarlson is seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to lead daily warehouse operations in Baltimore/Jessup, MD. This full-time role requires hands-on management of staffing, logistics, inventory and facilities, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

You will develop, coach, and mentor DC staff, manage budgets, and implement programs to optimize efficiency while maintaining high service levels for our customers and partners in North America.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related warehouse/distribution experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on management of warehouse processes, staffing, logistics and distribution operations.
• Provide daily leadership and direction to all levels of DC staff including hiring, training, and performance coaching.
• Develop, implement, and manage safety and training programs for staff and equipment.
• Maintain facility and equipment for safety, compliance, and uninterrupted operation.
• Develop, manage budgets and expenditures for the distribution center.
• Develop short- and long-range plans for the Distribution Center.
• Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to lead daily warehouse operations, drive efficiency, and ensure a safe, productive, and well-organized distribution environment. This role oversees staffing, logistics, inventory, and facility operations while developing a strong team culture and implementing continuous improvements to support overall business goals.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Hands-on management of processes, procedures, staffing and logistics and distribution operations.
• Provide daily leadership and direction to all levels of DC Staff to ensure efficient and productive operations to include hiring, training, and performance coaching.
• Develop, implement, and manage programs/training to ensure safety of staff, equipment, and property.
• Maintain facility and equipment to ensure safety, compliance, and uninterrupted operation.
• Develop, recommend, and manage budget and expenditures.
• Develop short-term and long-range plans for the Distribution Center
• Other duties or special projects as assigned.

You Might Be A Good Fit If You Have:

• 5 years related warehouse/distribution experience to include a minimum of 2-years’ leadership experience
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite Warehouse Management Inventory/Systems
• Forward-thinking skills to analyze opportunities to deliver continuous improvement
• Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate at all levels of the organization and cross functional environment
• Ability to operate at a professional level in a fast-paced environment to achieve business goals.

Physical Demand:

Warehouse environment. Exposure to cold/hot temperatures. Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods (at least two hours straight, four times in an 8-hr day) on cement floor. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Ability to be forklift certified. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 50 pounds.
