Distribution Center Lead

Location: Locust Grove, GA

Pay Rate: $50,000 – $65,000 per year

Position Overview

If you have experience on the warehouse floor and you are ready to step into a leadership role where your decisions directly impact operations, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. A rapidly expanding distribution operation in Locust Grove, GA is looking for a Distribution Center Lead to help build and manage a high-performance team at a brand-new facility. This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of warehouse associates across assigned shifts, providing clear direction, coaching, and real-time feedback to maintain productivity and quality standards
• Oversee inbound and outbound operations including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping to ensure daily throughput targets are met with accuracy
• Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy by conducting regular checks, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating corrective action with the inventory control team
• Enforce all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and facility-specific procedures — conducting safety briefings and addressing hazards immediately
• Track and report team productivity metrics to facility management on a daily basis, identifying trends and recommending process improvements
• Coordinate the onboarding and initial training of new associates, ensuring they understand facility procedures, safety requirements, and performance expectations
• Communicate clearly and professionally with management regarding staffing needs, equipment issues, and operational bottlenecks
• Lead by example on the floor — stepping in to assist with physical tasks during peak periods and demonstrating the work ethic expected of the team
• Support peak season planning and execution, including managing overtime scheduling and adjusting workflow as volume demands shift
• Identify high-performing associates and communicate development opportunities to facility management

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment environment
• At least 1 year of demonstrated leadership, lead, or supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
• Strong working knowledge of inbound and outbound warehouse operations and standard distribution processes
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English for reporting and team communication purposes
• Comfort with basic computer systems and warehouse management software for tracking and reporting
• Proven ability to hold a team accountable while maintaining a positive, productive work environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a related field is preferred
