Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is seeking a Distribution Center Building Systems Supervisor in Reno, NV. The role oversees maintenance, safety programs, and reliability for a high-volume Customer Fulfillment Center, including preventive maintenance, HVAC, and incident response.

The successful candidate will guide custodial operations, manage spare parts, support budgets, and mentor associates. On-call availability and cross-functional collaboration are essential to keep the center operating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of relevant facilities or industrial maintenance experience.
• Computer literacy for maintenance tracking and communication.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, starters, and switchgear.
• Mechanical proficiency with bearings, shafts, speed reducers, sprinkler systems, and comparable systems.
• HVAC expertise and thorough understanding of OSHA regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to provide technical direction.
• Flexibility to support on-call needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize maintenance workflow to maximize equipment uptime and building readiness.
• Ensure HVAC and climate-control systems operate effectively across the facility.
• Promote a robust Safety Culture through coaching, observation, and engagement.
• Develop and evaluate associates in alignment with MSC’s values and Code of Conduct.
• Participate in special projects and cross-functional teams that elevate the CFC’s performance.
• Step into other warehouse functions temporarily to support customer service when required.

Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity.
