Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is hiring for a Maintenance, Customer Fulfillment Center role in Reno, NV. The 2nd shift runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm. You will perform daily receiving tasks, inspect shipments, and verify items and quantities to ensure an accurate inventory flow.

The position emphasizes hands-on maintenance of building structures, conveyors, and related utilities, with strong safety and quality expectations. Opportunities for training and growth are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of maintenance experience or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of carpentry techniques and basic systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily receiving tasks and inspect shipments for correct items and quantities.
• Maintain building structures and warehouse systems including conveyors.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Assist in ensuring OSHA safety compliance and participate in safety programs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Read and interpret drawings and electrical/hydraulic schematics.
• Support in special projects and other duties as required.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

You will have a hands-on role in our warehouse to ensure delivery of our vast product line to our valued customers.

This position keeps the CFC building, exterior structure, grounds and related fixtures and utilities functional at all times.

• Sorts and matches departmental reports.
• Maintains building structures using basic carpentry, electrician, and HVAC skills.
• Maintains warehouse conveyor system using electrical and mechanical skills.
• Performs preventative maintenance tasks on warehouse equipment.
• Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems on warehouse equipment.
• Interprets machine and building drawings.
• Corrects damaged property (warehouse floors, dock doors, lights, etc).
• Manages facility equipment files.
• Operates all material handling equipment including forklift and conveyor equipment.
• Assists in ensuring OSHA safety compliance.
• Participates in work clean program.
• Supports the Safety Culture by following established SOP's.
• Engages in the local Safety Culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions.
• Assists department supervisors in identifying risk to associates or the business and mitigate those risks.
• Performs all duties within safety guidelines.
• Performs to specified productivity and quality expectations.

• Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC's mission.
• Operates basic warehouse vehicles (i.e., electric pallet jack and/or forklift).
• Operates advanced warehouse vehicles (i.e., turret truck and/or order picker).
• Cleans up spills.
• Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• Three years of maintenance experience or the equivalent required.

SKILLS:

• Knowledge of carpentry techniques and practices required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Demonstrated knowledge in interpreting and reading hydraulics, electrical information and pneumatics.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Hearing, seeing (including depth perception and peripheral vision), ability of mental coordination. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required for position. Must be able to operate at heights up to 50 feet. Mentally alert for entire shift.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must obtain internal certification to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.

Compensation starting at $15.52 - $24.43 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
