Job summary

Neenah Foundry Company is seeking a logistics-oriented professional to support finished goods inventory, transportation coordination, and customer service. You will perform data entry, maintain equipment, and assist in DC operations to ensure timely deliveries and accurate inventory records.

The role requires strong computer skills, forklift operation, and experience in distribution or customer service. Occasional travel and escalation to DC management may occur.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Associates/Bachelor’s in business, customer service, or supply chain management is a plus.
  • 2–5 years of experience in customer service or supply chain operations.
  • Strong computer skills; ability to learn AS400 and Salesforce.
  • Experience in distribution or customer service and forklift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of finished goods inventory stocks.
  • Maintain truck and related equipment via daily inspections; operate forklift as backup.
  • Sales support via email, quotes, phone calls, and walk-in business.
  • Daily data entry of customer orders, inventory control, and inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation and customer pickups.
  • Adhere to credit management policies and procedures.
  • Assist the DC Supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in development and success of the Distribution Center and company.
  • Fill in as DC Manager when the manager is absent and/or unavailable.

Job description

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the management of finished goods inventory stocks.
  • Maintain truck and related equipment via daily inspections. Schedule preventative maintenance or repairs as needed. Operate and maintain forklift, load, and unload trucks as backup/support to Yard Utility Personnel.
  • Sales support via email, quotes, phone calls, and walk-in business.
  • Working relationship with Distribution, Field Sales, Shipping, Inside Sales, Finance, and Department personnel.
  • Daily data entry of customer orders, inventory control, and inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct post-order activities such as returns, debit/credits, etc.
  • Management and scheduling of inbound and outbound transportation, and customer pickups.
  • Adhere to the required credit management policies and procedures.
  • Assist the DC Supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and success of the Distribution Center and company.
  • Fill in as DC Manager when the manager is absent and/or unavailable.

Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
  • Achieve monthly shipment rates in support of the annual plan
  • Ensure inventory accuracy of > 98% through execution of a cycle count program.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team, influencing others through strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be an effective communicator at hourly, executive, and customer levels of communication.
  • Computer Skills, email, ability to learn AS400 & Salesforce applications.
  • Basic customer service and distribution center knowledge.
  • Ability to safely operate forklift.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma is required.
  • Associates Degree or bachelor’s degree in business, Customer Service, or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience with customer service or supply chain operations depending upon education.
  • Strong computer skills/analytics required.
  • Record of working and/or collaborating in a distribution or customer service position.
  • Experience working with municipalities and city requirements is a plus.
  • Forklift operating skills required.
Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the company's Human Resources operations
  • Safely operate a forklift as needed
Travel Requirements

Up to 10% for training purposes or backfilling responsibilities only.
