Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Gainesville seeks a Distributed Computer Systems Specialist to support CHD users with hardware, software, and networking. Travel 50% to consortium CHDs for on-site support and to assist the System Administrator in LAN/WAN tasks.

You will maintain system documentation, help desk tickets, and user training, while safeguarding confidential information and enforcing security policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop training programs related to distributed processing
• Ability to monitor and resolve problems with distributed systems components.

Responsibilities

• Support 10 County Health Departments with hardware, software and networking functions.
• Perform workstation/server setup and configurations and network settings.
• Assist in installing and implementing distributed system hardware, software, and communications components.
• Maintain a work plan and schedule for consortium support and manage help desk tickets.
• Provide training and create system documentation as directed by Supervisor.
• Monitor software/hardware use and respond to user needs via on-site, phone, and remote support.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems across the consortium CHDs.
• May work extra hours or days in emergencies; travel 50% of the time.
