Job summary

LucidLink is seeking a Software Engineer with strong backend fundamentals to help rebuild the metadata service at scale. You’ll influence architecture, databases, and protocols in a data-intensive product space, collaborating with Platform Engineering and SRE to balance reliability and performance.

The role requires hands-on experience with C++ (or similar low-level language), distributed databases, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Qualifications

• Proven back-end development with C++ or similar low-level language.
• Strong knowledge of system and network fundamentals (OS, processes, I/O, multithreading).
• Experience with algorithms and data structures.
• Hands-on experience with databases and data-intensive, high-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Own outcomes on the metadata service rebuild, turning research into concrete architecture and database decisions.
• Partner with Platform Engineering and SRE to balance reliability, performance and delivery speed.
• Use data, benchmarks and judgment to improve outcomes.
• Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews and reliability practices.
