Job summary

Dune, a Europe and eastern US time‑zone analytics platform for on‑chain data, seeks a software engineer focused on data to help scale the data platform. You will work on large‑scale distributed systems, data modelling, and high‑performance processing using Kotlin or Go.

You should be a strong generalist with CS fundamentals, experience with distributed systems, blockchain RPCs, and data lakes (Parquet, Delta, Iceberg).

Qualifications

• Strong generalist with fundamental computer science knowledge and ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Understanding of distributed system design or willingness to learn advanced concepts.
• Understanding of blockchain technology and RPC interactions.
• Experience with data lakes and formats such as Parquet, Delta, and Iceberg.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for teamwork.
• Experience in JVM languages and writing well-designed, testable software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed systems with scalable architecture.
• Tackle challenges in distributed systems, large databases, SQL processing, data modelling, or performance.
• Own components of the blockchain data platform (ingestion/decoding).
• Write code primarily in Kotlin and Go, with Java and Rust as needed, focusing on design and performance.
• Improve internal developer experience with tests and deployment tooling.
• Automate incident diagnosis and resolution using AI where possible.
• Collaborate with a fast engineering team, contributing to AI-driven automation.
