Candidate will report five days onsite at St. Julien's Creek. Responsibilities and Duties Supports the Carrier C4I Program by providing GFI development of Distributed Systems (DS) for further development of SIDs (Ship Installation Drawings) by NNSY (Norfolk Naval Shipyard) Engineering group and to facilitate system installation on Aircraft Carriers in Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) and New Construction phases. Familiar with US Navy shipyard drawing standards and formats. Tasking will include taking system IRDs (Installation Requirements Drawings) and developing them into GFI products including, BWDs (Block Wiring Diagrams) considering all connected and hosted systems including C4I, IWS, NAVAIR, DCGS-N, CANES Video Distribution System, VIDS, LMMT, SSDS (NAVSEA IWO), ADMACS, ADNS, GPNTS, LINK-11 / 16, C2PS, SMQ-11, AIS, TMPC, etc., O&Is (Outline & Installations), LOMs (List of Materials), LOCs (List of Connections), and CANES Network Drop-list. Participation in ship checks at Newport News and Norfolk Naval shipyards. Participation in Program Management Reviews.
Qualifications and Skills Required knowledge and years of experience Must have at least 10 years’ experience with CANES shipboard C4I systems, interfaces and interdependencies. Experience with US Navy C4I architecture, installation, integration, and testing. Experience with MS Office and other software such as Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, and CAD programs. Must have experience with reviewing and developing, technical correspondence, reports, documents, and drawings. At least five (5) years’ experience supporting peer review meetings, collect input from participants, andincorporate the red line changes to engineering drawings and technical documents. Must be able to generate, edit, proof, and distribute program documentation to include program plans, status reports, and technical documentation. Military experience is a plus but not a requirement.
Must be able to take direction, work independently with excellent work ethics and a team player. Education Requirements High School Diploma - Prior experience with C4I systems, CANES in particular, as well as Military background, is a plus but not required. Ability to participate in ship-check at Newport News or Norfolk Naval Shipyard in VA, and Program Management Reviews in Charleston, SC if required. Expected travel less than 5%. Non-DS C4I systems GFI development may be required in this position as well.
