Job summary

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Storage Developer to enhance data storage libraries for its Research teams. You will work in C++ on large-scale storage solutions, collaborating with a team to enable cutting-edge research and robust, scalable storage systems.

Ideal candidates will have strong C++ skills, experience in distributed systems, and comfort working in Linux environments. Bonus points for database/distributed filesystem familiarity and a passion for low-level system design.

Qualifications

• Proficient C++ experience is required, daily use preferred.
• Distributed systems experience required (fault tolerance, sharding, trade-offs, robustness).
• Experience with databases, distributed filesystems, search infrastructure, or similar is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work productively in a Linux environment and understand UNIX OS-level performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a small team to create distributed storage systems for HRT’s needs.
• Stay informed about state-of-the-art storage/compute technologies and bridge gaps to research goals.
• Understand Research team’s storage and compute needs and build for next-generation research.
