Job summary

SC&H Group in Chicago is recruiting an Investment Banking Associate to join our distressed M&A practice. This role focuses on sell-side engagements for distressed businesses, with a four-day in-person requirement at our Chicago office.

You will oversee analytical support, build and review financial models, and contribute to client materials such as CIMs and pitch decks. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in investment banking and strong accounting and valuation knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a strong undergrad GPA (3.5+).
• Ideally 3+ years direct experience in investment banking, or related fields with M&A exposure.
• Excellent financial and quantitative skills.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting and statements (balance sheet, income statement).
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and ability to build integrated three-statement models.
• Understanding of valuation principles and ability to complete DCF.
• Excellent project management, verbal communication and business writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with quick turnaround times.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and oversight for analytical support, including research, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Write and design effective client communications including confidential information memorandums and pitch materials.
• Oversee design, development and maintenance of data sets and analytic models.
• Stay current on business and economic developments relevant to client engagements.
• Prepare marketing materials for prospective client meetings.
• Interact with clients as a key member of an engagement team.
• Demonstrate teamwork, integrity, leadership and initiative.
