Job summary

Octus is seeking a Distressed Debt Analyst in New York City to join a team covering in-and out-of-court restructurings and distressed situations across geographies. You will develop ideas for coverage and help shape future reporting, collaborating with industry experts to deliver actionable research to subscribers.

You will work with Distressed Debt Legal Analysts, Covenant Analysts and editorial staff to provide timely analysis to hedge funds, investment banks, and law firms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in investment banking/advisory/buyside with at least 1 year in restructuring/distressed.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Produce research reports and topical intelligence articles on valuations and recovery models.
• Maintain dialogue with subscribers and industry contacts to source ideas.
• Engage with portfolio managers at distressed funds daily.
• Collaborate with Legal Analysts, Covenant Analysts and editorial staff to cover distressed situations.
• Maintain a coverage universe of 10–15 distressed credit cases.
• Monitor industry trends to guide coverage.
