Job summary

Octus seeks a Distressed Debt Analyst to join our NYC team, covering in- and out-of-court restructurings across geographies. You will craft research and insights for subscribers, collaborating with Distressed Debt Legal Analysts and Covenant Analysts.

Based in New York City, you will engage with portfolio managers from top distressed funds daily, shaping coverage and identifying opportunities. A solid background in investment banking or buyside is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of investment banking, advisory, desk analyst and/or buyside experience
• Very strong technical and analytical skills as well as excellent written and oral communication abilities
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Produce research reports and topical intelligence articles, including valuation and waterfall recovery models, for publication and distribution to subscribers
• Maintain active dialogue and cultivate relationships with subscribers and industry contacts to supplement coverage efforts
• Direct exposure to portfolio managers at many of the top distressed hedge funds on a daily basis
• Collaborate with top-tier Legal Analysts, Covenant Analysts, Distressed Reporters and our editorial team to cover topical distressed situations
• Maintain coverage universe of 10-15 stressed and distressed credit situations
• Follow industry and/or restructuring trends in the broader market to help guide coverage
