American Electric Power in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Distribution Dispatching Coordinator to review and approve equipment removal for maintenance on the distribution system. You will supervise and coordinate dispatch activities, ensure safe operations, and support outages with a focus on reliability and compliance.

Responsible for reviewing and approving equipment removal for maintenance on the AEP distribution system, stations and sub-transmission as assigned; for coordination of these activities with the various departments of the Company involved; and notification to proper personnel regarding outages. Responsible for assisting in the supervision of personnel in carrying out the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the distribution system.

Must maintain high availability for callout response and be able to work under pressure during critical system conditions while managing multiple priorities. Decisions made in this role may directly affect personnel safety, public welfare, equipment protection, service reliability, revenue, and customer confidence.
Must possess strong organization, communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills. Demonstrates technical leadership by reinforcing safety codes, regulatory requirements, business standards, approved operating procedures, switching and tagging expectations, outage coordination processes, logging requirements, and communication protocols. Supports DDC consistency through procedural discipline, documentation quality, cross-shift alignment, and customer-focused operations.
This role supports career progression by developing technical expertise, switching and outage coordination capability, documentation discipline, communication skills, and emergency response judgment. With appropriate approval, experience in this position may support advancement into a Senior Coordinator role and future leadership opportunities.
