Job summary

Tarnished Truth Distillery is seeking a Distillers Assistant to support all production components of our distilled spirits. The role covers product development, production, inventory, packaging, and event coordination, plus representing the distillery during tours and events.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, maintaining equipment, producing products from grain through bottling, managing inventories, and assisting in taxation and warehousing records.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of distilled spirits and/or beer production processes.
• Basic math skills for proofing spirits.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word).
• Read, write and speak basic English.
• 2 years of employment with a distilled spirits or beer manufacturing company.
• Experience in manufacturing distilled spirits or beer.
• Knowledge of state and federal distilled spirits guidelines and laws.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs and regulations to ensure quality service and hospitality.
• Assist in maintenance and sanitation of the distillery and equipment.
• Promote accident prevention to minimize liabilities.
• Oversee production stages from grain to bottling and packaging.
• Assist in managing raw ingredient inventories, ordering and quality.
• Maintain all required distilled spirits recordkeeping for federal and state taxation and warehousing.
• Aide in on/off premise events as needed.
• Operate a forklift to load, unload and move materials.

Overview

The Distillers Assistant (DA) assists in all production components of distilled spirits produced at Tarnished Truth Distilling Company.The DA performs daily tasks as requested by Management, including but not limited to: Product development, Product production, Recordkeeping, Equipment maintenance and cleaning, Inventory management, product packaging, and Event coordination and attendance.

The DA is expected to represent the distillery in the absence of management during distillery tours and special events both on and off premise and may require early mornings, weekends and late nights to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow all SOPs; to include safety and sanitary regulation, all federal, state and local regulations to ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality are provided to the guest
• Assist in the maintenance/sanitation of the Distillery and equipment to protect the assets, comply with regulations and ensure quality service
• Follow and promote accident prevention program to minimize liabilities and related expenses.
• Production of all products from grain, mashing, fermentation, distillation, barreling, aging, bottling, and packaging
• Assist in managing raw ingredient inventories, ordering, and quality
• Assist in completing all distilled spirits record keeping both federal and state for taxation and warehousing
• Aid with all on and off premise special events as needed
• Operate a forklift to safely load, unload and move material in the work area per manufacturers instructions
