Job summary

A-Gas is seeking a Column Shift Lead to oversee production activities under the Distillation Process Manager. You will manage a team of process operators across two shifts, assign tasks, schedule equipment, and ensure training, safety, and high quality standards are maintained.

The role requires strong process technology knowledge, GMP/ISO awareness, and the ability to troubleshoot to keep the distillation columns running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Essential: Process technology degree or equivalent experience in process operation.
• Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Experience in manufacturing or the specialty gas industry is preferred.
• Understanding of distillation processes and HMI operation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple process operators across two shifts under the Distillation Process Manager.
• Assign daily tasks, schedule equipment usage, and ensure proper training.
• Provide coaching, mentor staff, and ensure thorough shift handoffs.
• Ensure safe practices, GMP/ISO adherence, and quality control.
• Troubleshoot issues, meet production schedules, and report progress to supervision.
• Train new operators and maintain records of activities and verifications.
