Job summary

A-Gas is seeking a Column Shift Lead to oversee production activities on two shifts, ensuring safe setup and monitoring of distillation towers. You will lead operators, assign tasks, and uphold GMP standards while driving continuous improvement and on-time production.

Responsibilities include training, coaching, and ensuring accurate documentation, with emphasis on safety, quality, and equipment performance. Excellent teamwork and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Process Technology Degree or proven experience as a Process Operator.
• Excellent math skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• MS Word and Excel proficiency.
• Experience in manufacturing or specialty gas industries.
• Understanding of engineering, warehouse, and environmental services.
• Understanding of distillation and HMI operation of distillation columns.
• Gas Chromatography experience preferred.
• ISO/Tanker container handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production activities under the Distillation Process Manager.
• Lead multiple process operators across 2 shifts.
• Assign daily tasks and schedule equipment usage.
• Ensure proper training and adherence to SOPs and policies.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to the team.
• Maintain thorough handoffs between shifts to protect priorities.
• Ensure safe practices and good housekeeping.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems; meet production schedules.
• Train new operators and support regulatory training.
• Read blend sheets and record information; ensure GMP/ISO 9001 compliance.
• Handle and transfer flammable materials safely; maintain records.
• Provide data to track progress toward goals.
