Job Purpose and Summary

Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in fostering excellence within each pharmacy by acting as role models, demonstrating genuine care, and setting high standards for the pharmacy team.

As a DSP, you support pharmacy operations across the district, covering scheduling gaps under the guidance of the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader. You will work in various stores, supporting management, oversight, and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Helping manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations.
• Traveling within the district to fill pharmacist shifts and overseeing pharmacy functions in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
• Supporting accurate prescription fulfillment and following pharmacy workflow procedures.
• Assuming Pharmacy Manager duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Enhancing patient experience through empathy, care, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Offering immunizations and supporting pharmacy technicians in immunization delivery.
• Managing pharmacy inventory, focusing on cold chain products and best practices.
• Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, fostering an inclusive team environment.
• Maintaining clinical and technical skills, seeking opportunities for professional growth.
• Supporting clinical services like testing and prescribing where permitted.
• Complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure safety and privacy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state of employment.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Essential Functions

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius.
• Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Completion of required training within set timeframes.
• Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and effective communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related experience in pharmacy or customer service settings.
