Job Purpose and Summary

Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in fostering a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as role models, demonstrating genuine care, and setting high standards for the pharmacy team.

As a DSP, you will support our pharmacy teams by covering pharmacist scheduling gaps under the guidance of the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader. You will work across stores in the district, supporting pharmacy operations and team management.

Responsibilities

• Help manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations
• Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts and oversee pharmacy operations as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager
• Support safe prescription fulfillment and pharmacy workflow adherence
• Assume Pharmacy Manager duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Enhance patient experiences with empathy and support pharmacy team to do the same
• Proactively offer immunizations and support technicians in immunization procedures
• Manage pharmacy inventory following best practices, especially cold chain products
• Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, fostering an inclusive team environment
• Update clinical and technical skills through ongoing training and CME opportunities
• Support clinical services like testing and prescribing where permitted
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state of employment
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Additional Requirements

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius
• Reliable attendance including nights and weekends
• Complete required training on time
• Strong concentration, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in pharmacy or related fields
