Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Distribution Center Associate to support warehouse operations at our Minooka, IL facility. You will perform inbound/outbound tasks, pick, pack, label, and maintain a clean, organized work environment, reporting to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, meeting production targets, and using scanning equipment. The role requires 18+ years old, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and willingness to work onsite at 701 Grainger Way, Minooka,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Able to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with attention to detail (unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking, packing)
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to meet customer expectations for quality and speed
• Meet safety, productivity, attendance and overtime requirements as needed
• Operate scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment per OSHA guidelines

Compensation

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $21.75/hour [with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $22.95/hour]

• + $1/hour for powered industrial equipment (PIE) operators**
• $1/hour for working overnight shift

Position Details

The Distribution Center Associate performs warehouse responsibilities and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing – picking, packing, staging, shipping, general maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities to guarantee a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with safety requirements by performing inspections and maintenance. You will role report directly to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager and have regular interaction with other DC Associates.

You Will

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with strong attention to detail. For example, unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing products
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to exceed customers' expectations for quality and delivery speed
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and Hazardous
• Material requirements Perform other tasks as directed by leadership

You Have

• Comfort working on your feet with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust while working around moving equipment and elevated stations
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds
• Ability to receive feedback and work well in a team environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• **For PIE operators: ability to operate warehouse vehicles, material handling equipment and powered industrial equipment, including Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett, Turret Truck and Forklift

Preferred Qualifications

• 18+ months previous warehouse, retail, or customer service experience in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations.
• Great attention to detail, quality, and safety.
