Description

Full Time Dispensing Nurse – LPN/LVN

BAART Program is seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team in partnership with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. Responsibilities include maintaining dispensing equipment, managing medication inventory, and reporting patient treatment information.

The ideal candidate works cooperatively with supervisory counseling staff and demonstrates a non-judgmental attitude toward individuals with Substance Use Disorder.

Responsibilities

1. Administer daily medication to patients according to program policies and medical protocols.
2. Use automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and maintain equipment.
3. Maintain records and reports as per company, federal, and state regulations.
4. Ensure compliance with security standards for controlled substances.
5. Order, receive, and stock medication following DEA and state regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
6. Provide daily patient assessments.
7. Assist in orienting new nursing staff.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

1. Current and good standing LPN/LVN license in California (or substitute with CA Psychiatric Technician license).
2. Current CPR certification.
3. Proficiency in EMR and computers preferred.
4. Experience in chemical dependency treatment preferred; positive attitude towards individuals in substance abuse treatment.
5. Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary Range

$28.21 to $30.21 per hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, and training.
