Job summary

King City Gardens in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Dispensary Sales Associate (Budtender) to welcome customers, educate them on cannabis products, and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced retail setting. As a Budtender, you will verify IDs, explain strains and product types, assist with selecting items, and maintain accurate sales records while staying compliant with DCC rules.

Flexible schedule includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and cash-handling skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced retail environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of cannabis products and regulatory requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers upon arrival.
• Verify customer identification and patient registry status.
• Educate customers on cannabis strains, cannabinoids, and product types.
• Guide customers in selecting appropriate products.
• Maintain customer confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.
• Provide efficient, professional service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Maintain accurate sales and dispensing records.
• Follow all DCC regulations and applicable OAC 3796 standards.
• Dispense cannabis using MMCP and point-of-sale (POS) software.
• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dispensary.
• Assist with receiving, labeling, and stocking inventory.
• Perform opening and closing duties and complete compliance reports.
• Attend training sessions and maintain current product knowledge.

Our Dispensary Sales Associates (Budtenders) are the face of our company and often the first point of contact for our customers. They play a key role in representing KCG and The Garden by creating a welcoming experience, providing product education, and helping customers find products that fit their needs while delivering exceptional customer service. Preferred Experience:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods (8-10 hours).
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Manual dexterity to operate registers and label products.

Division of Cannabis Control Requirements

• Must be 21+, pass a background check, and obtain and maintain a DCC employee badge.
• Ability to meet background screening requirements consistent with Ohio cannabis industry standards.

Full-time associates are eligible for health, vision, and dental plans after 30 days.
