Job summary

The Forest Cincinnati LLC is seeking a dispensary associate in Ohio to guide guests through selecting medical cannabis products and provide education on their use. You will engage with guests from entry to purchase, delivering excellent customer service while ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance.

You will verify patient identity, assist with inventory, and uphold HIPAA and Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Strong communication and reliability are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass background checks and licensing per state.
• Retail or hospitality experience preferred.
• Must be able to work opening, closing, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient reading/writing/speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Register customers into the POS with patient ID and verify the card.
• Verify days' supply using OARRS at check-in and checkout.
• Follow doctors' notes for dosing and medication type.
• Educate patients on product types, uses, and dosage.
• Ensure labels and products match the patient's cart.
• Maintain labeling requirements at checkout.
• Assist patients in person and by phone with inquiries.
• Educate about Ohio laws and Board guidelines on cannabis.
• Assist in daily cannabis and non-cannabis inventory.
• Support the General Manager to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Position Summary:

The dispensary associate is responsible for guiding guests through the process of selecting the appropriate medicine for their needs and by providing education of medical cannabis products. The dispensary associate is responsible for one-on-one interaction with guests from the time they walk in the store to the time they leave with their purchase and will provide excellent customer service while making guests feel empowered and confident in their decision.

Essential Job Functions:

• Register customer into the system using their patient ID card and photo identification used to obtain the card, verify the recommendation and status of the patient ID card with Metrc registry; confirm all required profile fields are complete; check guest into the POS system
• Using OARRS, verify days' supply available when checking patient or caregiver in, when recommending a medication to avoid over administering medication, and at check out to make sure they are not being oversold
• Adhere to any doctors' notes in the system for dosing, medication type, and administration of medication
• Provide education to patients on product types, uses, and dosage to ensure maximum benefit for their qualifying condition and symptoms
• Confirm medication pulled matches the medication entered into the POS by checking product labels against the patients' cart
• Make certain all labeling requirements are completed at check out
• Assist patients in person and by phone with inquiries and concerns
• Adheres to and educates patients on Ohio laws and regulations as it relates to the Board of Pharmacy guidelines including methods of consumption and administration
• Assist in daily inventory of cannabis and non-cannabis inventory
• Responsible for communicating any activity or observations that are out of the ordinary.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and local laws through all stages of the sale of medical cannabis
• Provide support to the General Manager, as requested, to ensure daily operations of the dispensary run smoothly, properly, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma, or the equivalent
• Must be able to pass all background check requirements and obtain licensing as set forth by the Division of Cannabis Control
• Retail or hospitality experience, preferred
• Must be able to work opening, closing, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
