Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Security Dispatcher to act as the central hub for the Security Department, relaying critical information and directing officers across the property. You’ll manage multi-line communications, monitor cameras, and ensure timely, accurate reporting during incidents.

The position requires strong judgment, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ years of prior relevant experience (customer service preferred).
• Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels to identify/respond to threats.
• Coordinate and direct security officers to incidents, emergencies, and requests across the property.
• Maintain coordination with the Global Security Operations Center.
• Operate radios and telephones to relay critical information between security teams, management, and other departments.
• Keep logs of communications, incidents, emergencies, and activities in real-time.
• Follow protocols during emergencies (fire, medical incidents, active threats) with authorities.
• Liaise with police, EMS, and external agencies as needed for incidents.
• Own dispatch calls for service including security and lost and found; resolve issues and follow up for guest satisfaction.
• Assist investigations by locating/retrieving relevant video footage for evidence review.

Job Description

THE JOB:

The Security Dispatcher serves as the central communication hub for the Security Department, relaying critical information between Security Officers and Management. This role involves managing a multi-line communication center, including handling radio and telephone messages. In addition to clerical duties, Security Dispatchers must make quick, informed decisions, particularly during emergencies, while effectively juggling multiple tasks. A strong grasp of departmental policies and procedures is essential for maintaining smooth operations.

THE STARTING RATE:

$22.00 Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Continuously monitor cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels to identify and respond to potential security threats in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and direct security officers to respond to incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance throughout the property, focusing on prompt and effective action.
• Maintain continuous coordination with the Global Security Operations Center.
• Operate communication equipment, such as two-way radios and telephones, to relay critical information between security teams, management, and other departments.
• Maintain accurate logs of communication, incidents, emergencies, and security activities in real-time, maintaining clear and detailed records for reporting and follow-up.
• Follow established protocols during emergencies, such as fire, medical incidents, or active threats, while maintaining clear communication and coordination with local authorities.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency medical services, and other external agencies as needed, providing support and information during incidents or emergencies.
• Own dispatch calls for service including those related to security or lost and found items. Resolve issues promptly, follow up to support guest satisfaction, answer incoming calls, and coordinate with other departments as necessary.
• Assist in investigations by locating and retrieving relevant video footage, facilitating accurate and timely identification of key evidence for review.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience (Customer service experience) preferred
• Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience. preferred
