The University of Alabama at Birmingham Police Department seeks a Dispatcher for our Public Safety team. This role handles radio and telephone communications, coordinates responses, and maintains familiarity with CALEA standards as a contributing member of a nationally accredited agency.

Duties include operating ACJIC/NCIC terminals and equipment in the Communications Center. Starting hourly pay is $17.95, with rotation across shifts and days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to type twenty-five (25) WPM required.
• Strong multitasking and adherence to department policies and procedures.

• Rotates on all shifts and all days of the week at the supervisor's discretion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Performs multi-tasking priorities. Maintains knowledge of all required department policies and procedures.
• Operates the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center/National Crime Information Center (ACJIC/NCIC) terminal and become certified on the same.
• Operates equipment in the Communications Center.
• Rotates on all shifts and all days of the week, at the discretion of the Communications Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Starting hourly rate: $17.95
