Job description

Dispatcher I - Lenexa, KS

Sunday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Monday to Thursday, 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

Responsibilities
  • Answer client pick‑up request calls and enter requests into dispatch system.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign pick‑ups to ensure timely delivery to the lab.
  • Communicate with field operations and respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Determine feasibility of requested pick‑ups based on multiple factors.
  • Actively listen to client concerns, conduct preliminary research, and forward or elevate issues to a Group Lead or Supervisor.
  • Participate in other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years of customer service or logistics experience.
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Capacity to handle a high volume of telephone calls in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to use dispatch application accurately and efficiently.
  • Organized, capable of prioritizing multiple concurrent functions across multiple regions.
  • Ability to interface with other departments, maintain confidentiality, and be flexible with scheduling (weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime).
  • Knowledge of logistics operations and Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures.
  • Job competencies: functional/technical skills, integrity and trust, active listening, negotiation, problem solving, drive for results, composure, creativity, priority setting.

Pay

$17.20+ per hour. Shift differentials: 10% for hours on the second shift, 15% for hours on the third shift. Annual performance bonus compensation may be available.
