Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. in El Paso, TX is seeking an intermediate-level dispatcher to manage field operations workload, dispatch and re-allocate resources, and use software such as Banner, PragmaCAD, SharePoint, Maximo, Everbridge, and Skype.

This full-time on-site role requires 1+ year of dispatch experience, knowledge of scheduling principles, strong communication, basic arithmetic, and a valid driver’s license. You will support customers and employees with account information and service orders,

Qualifications

• Two to four years of dispatch experience; minimum one year required.
• Knowledge of scheduling principles and practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly and exchange information.
• Experience with office equipment and applicable software.
• Basic arithmetic including decimals and percentages (tested).
• Experience with dispatch policies and emergency notification procedures.
• Fluent reading/writing in English.

Performs intermediate level of work related to dispatching.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate through various media channels including: phone, email, and electronic messaging to communicate to internal and external customers.
• Prioritize, dispatch, evaluate, analyze and re-allocate field operations workload and manpower; manage work schedule to ensure appropriate resources are available.
• Utilize multiple technology platforms including: Customer Information System (Banner), Dispatch Software (PragmaCAD), SharePoint, Maximo, Everbridge, Skype, and other applicable systems to complete daily tasks.
• Assist customers and employees in person and via telephone regarding account information and/or service order requests including but not limited to:
  • Account inquiries
  • City Inspections
  • Emergency line locates
  • Service requests
  • Emergency situations
  • Reschedules uncompleted orders
  • Answer customer direct line inquiries for CNG
  • Answer field management inquiries
• Process and/or prepare reports and records including but not limited to:
  • Emergency reports
  • Incident reports
  • Time sheets
• Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
• Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience

• In addition to vocational training, this role typically calls for two to four years of relevant experience; (Minimum of one-year relevant experience is required).
• Knowledge of scheduling principles and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and/or exchange information or instructions.
• Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.
• Knowledge of the application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Application of decimals and percentages. (Tested)
• Knowledge of customer accounting and information center policies and procedures.
• Experience and training related to:
  • Dispatching policies and procedures
  • Operating communication devices
  • Emergency notification procedures
  • Electronic work management tools
• Experience reading and interpreting maps and customer account information.
• Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Licenses and Certifications

Required applicable driver’s license

• Stationary for extended periods.
• Mobility to travel in and around office facilities.
• React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
• Able to operate tools and equipment required.
• Communicate and/or exchange verbal and written information and instructions.
