Job summary

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC is seeking a Dispatcher to schedule drivers for freight deliveries and pickups, coordinating with customers and vendors to confirm times and routes.

The role involves planning driver routes, monitoring vehicle maintenance, maintaining dispatch records, and providing responsive support to customers and management during business hours.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating drivers and dispatching logistics.
• Understanding of local traffic laws and regulations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Strong communication with customers and vendors.
• Proficiency with dispatch software or related systems.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling drivers to make freight delivery or collect shipments.
• Communicating with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup and drop-off times.
• Planning predetermined routes for drivers.
• Identifying traffic problems and creating corrective action plans.
• Preparing dispatch documents for management.
• Maintaining a record of all dispatch calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pick-up times.
• Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Answering phone calls from vendors, customers, and management and helping them as needed.
• Other duties as requested.
