Job summary

First Student is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation operations, communicating with drivers, monitoring routes, and responding to service disruptions. The role emphasizes safety, timeliness, and efficient dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily driver assignments, vehicle dispatching, and route coverage.
• Monitor routes and schedules to ensure safe and on-time transportation.
• Communicate with drivers and other personnel using radio, telephone, and dispatch systems.
• Respond to service delays, driver call-outs, vehicle breakdowns, and other operational issues.
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, driver attendance records, and operational documentation.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams regarding vehicle availability and service needs.
• Assist with scheduling adjustments and operational coverage.
• Respond professionally to customer inquiries and service concerns.
• Support compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable transportation regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
