You will schedule orders, coordinate with sales and drivers, and ensure accurate delivery records while thriving in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided for growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer and driver calls in a timely, professional manner.
• Schedule and track orders and deliveries.
• Prepare daily delivery schedule outlining equipment, personnel, and materials needed.
• Coordinate deliveries with customers, sales, quality control, and drivers.
• Maintain knowledge of city streets to aid drivers at job sites.
• Dispatch and manage drivers to meet demand safely and efficiently.
• Work overtime and varied shifts including early mornings and Saturdays.
• Enter accurate delivery data and times into the system.
• Record delivery and product information with precision.
• Communicate promptly with supervisors about any issues with materials.
• Contribute to a safe, organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)

• Answer’s customer and driver calls in a timely and professional manner
• Schedules and tracks orders and deliveries.
• Prepare daily schedule for next-day deliveries outlining equipment, personnel, and material needed.
• Coordinate deliveries with customers, sales, quality control, operators and other personnel as required regarding special materials needed, customer requirements, plant, and material availability.
• Maintain working knowledge of city streets and surrounding areas to assist drivers in locating specific job sites.
• Schedule, dispatch and control the appropriate level of drivers required to satisfy customer demand while maintaining safety and efficiency goals established by the company
• Must be able to work overtime and varying shift including early mornings, late afternoons and Saturdays
• Record accurate deliver and product information on order, negotiates delivery times with customers
• Enters daily time for all drivers utilizing a time entry system.
• Attention to detail is imperative to accurately record delivery and product information into command dispatch system with ability to negotiate delivery times with customers
• Must be able to perform in high call volume situations while multitasking with plants, team members in the office while sitting for long periods of time
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous related experience in a construction environment and/or trucking preferred.

Work Environment

• Office setting
• This position is a largely sedentary; however, caution needs to be taken when lifting files, boxes, opening file cabinet drawers
• To avoid injuries to hands, back, and neck, proper ergonomics should be maintained while working at desk/workstation
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
