Job summary

DATTCO is hiring a Dispatcher for the Coach & Tour Division in Bridgeport, CT. This full-time, on-site role supports on-time departures, driver check-ins, and customer information for Coach & Tour operations.

You will monitor routes with GPS/software and address service issues promptly to ensure smooth operations. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of dispatching experience preferred and bus operations experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with supervisors to ensure on time departure of all vehicles.
• Check in drivers as they report to work including reviewing uniforms and providing work tickets.
• Provide information regarding Coach & Tour Division operations to customers and staff.
• Utilise GPS and dispatch software to monitor routes for accuracy.
• Collaborate with drivers and staff to resolve service issues promptly.
• Review driver itineraries for accuracy and address questions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with supervisors to ensure on time departure of all vehicles
• Check in drivers as they report to work including reviewing uniforms and providing work tickets
• Providing information regarding Coach & Tour Division operations to customers and other staff
• Utilising GPS and dispatching software to monitor operations of routes for accuracy
• Working with drivers and other staff to address service issuesfailures in a timely manner
• Review driver itineraries for accuracy and address driver questionsconcerns promptly

Minimum Requirements

• Open availability to work mornings nights weekends and holidays as required
• 2 years dispatching experience
• High school degree or equivalent
• Bus operations experience preferred
• Well developed planning and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
• Detail oriented and customer focused
• Proactive mentality towards problem solving
• Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening
• Adaptability to different personality types
• Ability to work with computer systems and follow specific business rules for data entry
• Proficient in Microsoft Office primarily Word Excel and Outlook
• Ability to use internet or other tools to research trip and destination information
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements at a moments notice
• Must be able to work in a team environment
