National Retail Transportation seeks an organized Operations Coordinator to support daily logistics, driver hiring and safety initiatives at our New Jersey operations. You will handle customer updates, performance reviews, and cross-functional process improvements to maximize efficiency.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work under pressure, and experience with standard office tools. You will collaborate with safety and recruiting teams to drive results.

Formación

• Requires high school education or equivalent.
• 1 year logistics-related experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a wide range of people.

Responsabilidades

• Provide updates to customers on projects, goals and operational check-ins for pickups/deliveries.
• Participate in customer weekly/daily calls regarding performance and planning.
• Review potential changes, validate with operations management, and implement improvements for drivers and dispatchers.
• Support driver hiring and startup initiatives by interviewing and processing drivers.
• Evaluate driver pools and capabilities for busy seasons and special projects.
• Match driver candidates to service needs and coordinate recruiting/safety processing.
• Interface with customers to resolve issues and align expectations across cross-functional teams.
• Develop and use reporting tools and dashboards for operational insight and revenue opportunities.

Supporting local client operations on a day-to-day basis, hands on paperwork/administrative controls to maximize efficiency. focus on driver hiring conversions and driver retention. Create and control safety programs involving working with drivers and safety department. Working through business continuity models to support operations through adversity.

Duties and responsibilities

• 1. Customer Service
  • Providing updates to customers on projects/goals/operational check in on pickups/deliveries
  • Participate in customer weekly/daily calls regarding performance and planning
  • Review potential changes and/or improvements with customer, validate internally with operations management team, and roll out changes/improvements to the many drivers and dispatchers involved.
  • Support driver hiring and start up initiatives by interviewing and processing drivers
  • Evaluate driver pools and driver capabilities for busy season/special projects
  • Match driver candidates for capabilities that match service needs
  • Work through application questions and concerns
  • Coordinate Recruiting and Safety departments processing of applications
• 2. Review Problems from internal & external customers and resolve
  • Interface with customers on expectations and recent issues to help resolve
  • Work with internal customers from cross functional departments to establish needs and processes to complete
• 3. Operational Tools & infrastructure
  • Work with tools and infrastructure items like
  • Tracking /rand mcnally/skybitz
  • Customer portals and online platforms i.e. Smartsheet
• 4. Administrative Support
  • Work with administrative teams to complete orders/close out open billing items
  • Develop reporting tools to create processed for additional revenue streams. i.e. detention and bobtail billing

Qualifications

• Ability to actively and effectively act as a team member in a professional manner and in the spirit of TEAM success.
• This position requires a high school education or equivalent.
• Relevant work experience in a logistics field, 1 year experience preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
