Prestigious Serrano Country Club is now accepting applications for talented, experienced line cooks. The qualified applicant will have two to three years' experience in all facets of fine dining cuisine. Must be a self-starter, a team player, able to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor. Preparation of a quality product and commitment to consistency are crucial. Ability to offer menu ideas and think independently is strongly desired.

This is a full-time position. Serrano offers two weeks' vacation, eight sick days, and eight paid holidays. Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance are available within 60 days of hire. 401(k) is available after one year of service with a 4% employer match. Complimentary meal and golf privileges. You will need a Food Handler Certificate within 30 days of hire. Interviews will be scheduled with qualified applicants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Executive Chef or designee.

  • Supports the goals and objectives of the Company and is committed to Total Customer Satisfaction.
  • Must have a professional, service-oriented attitude at all times.
  • Follows safe work practices at all times.
  • Adheres to schedule, reports to work on time, well-groomed, and in a clean uniform.
  • Uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturers' instructions.
  • Maintains safe and sanitary food handling practices; keeps work station clean.
  • Covers, wraps, and stores unused food products properly.
  • Returns soiled utensils and small ware to proper areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen, including organizing storage, sweeping, mopping, and waste management.
Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, products, and tools.
  • Language/Interpersonal Skills: Ability to read, interpret safety rules and manuals, communicate effectively, and interact professionally with members, guests, and colleagues.
  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Valid California driver’s license, food handler or ServSafe certification.
Physical Demands

Must be able to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays. Frequently required to stand, walk, lift up to 70 pounds, and perform other physical tasks. Vision and communication abilities are also necessary.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a fast-paced, indoor environment with moderate noise. Must adapt to temperature changes and work safely and effectively under stress.
