Job summary

Marriott Lexington Griffin Gate Golf Resort & Spa is seeking a full-time Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of china, glass, and silver, and assist kitchen staff with storage and organization.

You will operate dishwashing equipment, ensure proper food storage and rotation, and help keep back-of-house areas clean and orderly.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to work well under pressure in a hospitality environment.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to convey information clearly.

• Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure sanitation of china, glass and silver.
• Replace all clean china; glass and silver in proper storage with care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper procedure for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster; maintain back dock and dumpster area.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
