Job summary

Westchester General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Utility Worker to support the kitchen team by washing dishes, utensils and pots, while maintaining a sanitary environment in the cafeteria.

Under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor, you will follow established procedures, assist with cart deliveries, and help with post-meal cleanups. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and be able to communicate in English; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational training in food service preferred.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots and pans and maintain a sanitary kitchen.
• Set up and break down dishwashing equipment and three-compartment sink.
• Follow proper pot washing procedures and cleaning routines.
• Clean dishwashing machine after each meal.
• Record temperatures and sanitation checks in the sink area.
• Maintain cleanliness of all carts, floors, and work areas.
• Participate in post-meal cleanup and potential cross-training.
