Job summary

Hartville Kitchen is seeking a hands-on Dishwashing & Evening Cleaning Supervisor to lead the dish room and closing cleaning crew. Full-time or part-time evenings, 4:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m., five shifts weekly.

• Experience in restaurant or cleaning roles.
• Ability to lead a small team.
• Willingness to work evenings, Saturdays, and holidays.

• Basic food safety knowledge; ServSafe a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the dishwashing and evening cleaning team each shift.
• Train new team members on dish machine operation, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
• Oversee nightly closing checklists to ensure cleanliness standards before close.
• Monitor dish machine performance and chemical levels; report equipment issues.
• Keep the team moving during peak dinner rush to support servers and cooks.
• Track and order cleaning and dish room supplies to prevent shortages.
• Enforce food safety and sanitation standards per local health codes.
• Lead by example as a working supervisor, assisting with dishwashing and closing duties.

Hartville Kitchen is a busy, family-owned restaurant looking for a hands-on Dishwashing & Evening Cleaning Supervisor to lead our dish room and closing cleaning crew. If you're organized, reliable, and know how to keep a fast-paced kitchen running clean behind the scenes, we'd love to meet you.

Schedule: Full-time, evenings 4:00 p.m. -12:00 a.m. 5 shifts a week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday – Some holidays required.

Part-Time, evenings 7:00 p.m. -12:00 a.m. 5 shifts a week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday – Some holidays required.

What You'll Do

• Supervise the dishwashing and evening cleaning team each shift
• Train new team members on proper dish machine operation, chemical handling, and safety procedures
• Oversee nightly closing checklists to make sure the kitchen, and dish room meet our cleanliness standards before close
• Monitor dish machine performance and water temperature/chemical levels; report equipment issues promptly
• Keep the team moving during peak dinner rush so servers and cooks always have what they need
• Track and order cleaning and dish room supplies so we never run short
• Enforce food safety and sanitation standards in line with local health codes
• Handle day-to-day operations of the dish room, and escalation to management when needed
• Perform spot checks and walk-throughs to catch problems before they become bigger ones
• Lead by example as a working supervisor, actively assisting with dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, and closing duties alongside the team as needed

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a restaurant, kitchen, or cleaning role required
• Prior experience leading or supervising a small team preferred
• Comfortable working evenings, including Saturdays and holidays
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.; comfortable working around heat, steam, and water
• Dependable and able to keep a calm head during busy times
• Basic food safety knowledge; ServSafe certification a plus (or willingness to obtain one)
