Job Summary:

The Community Utility Associate performs various food service functions, maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of community food services, facilities, and equipment. Responsibilities include washing dishes, pots, and pans, cleaning, food storage and rotation, and garbage removal, ensuring machinery is clean and floors are maintained after each meal.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the posted work schedule and arrive on time in appropriate attire.
• Properly wash china, flatware, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and other assigned areas.
• Establish constructive working relationships with kitchen staff and residents.
• Familiar with food-handling procedures and regulations.
• Operate kitchen appliances such as garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, and ice machine.
• Assist with food preparation, inventory, maintenance, food deliveries, and stocking shelves as needed.
• Follow emergency procedures and safety practices.
• Report injuries and communicate effectively with staff and residents.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma preferred or GED accepted.
• Some kitchen experience is desirable.
• Basic knife skills required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Physically capable of bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods.

Miscellaneous:

• May be required to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Possible exposure to infectious waste and diseases.
• Must be in good health, free of communicable diseases, and pass background checks.
• Employment may involve video or social media recording and image use.
