Position Summary: The Dishwasher is an entry-level position that supports restaurant staff and provides foundational training and experience. The role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness by washing tableware and kitchen items, and performing other cleaning tasks as assigned. Proper storage of all dishes ensures an organized and functional workspace.
Reports to: Sous Chef
Physical Activities: Must stand for long periods and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Tasks involve moderate physical effort, including climbing, lifting up to 40 pounds, balancing, walking, and handling materials. Ability to perform tasks safely in wet environments and follow instructions carefully is essential.
Communication: Must communicate professionally with guests, coworkers, and management. Ability to understand instructions, read written memos, and seek guidance when needed.
Interpersonal Skills: Must adapt to various personalities among guests and coworkers, maintaining focus and teamwork.
Problem Solving: Recognize and resolve issues appropriately using good judgment and initiative, following company policies.
Quality Control & Prioritization: Assess product value and customer needs to uphold high standards.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn how to operate and maintain commercial dishwashing equipment.
