South Peninsula Hospital in Alaska is seeking a Dishwasher to join the dietary team, keeping dishes, pots, and pans clean and ready for meal service. This role supports patient care in a fast-paced kitchen.

Work evenings, 0.9 FTE, union position; requires a HS diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and State Alaska Food Worker’s Card within 30 days. Prior dishwashing experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous dishwashing or food service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Good physical and mental health with the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Must maintain a clean, well-groomed, and professional appearance.
• Certification: Must obtain a State of Alaska Food Worker’s Card within 30 days of employment.

ENVIRONMENT

The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. The Dietary Dishwasher works in a fast-paced kitchen environment, coming into contact with hospitalized patients, healthcare providers, and dietary team members.

Job hazards include exposure to food, grease, steam, water, cleaning chemicals, and bodily fluids, as well as risks of cuts, burns, falls, and back strain from lifting. This role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and early or late hours.
