Job summary

YONAH CAPITAL in Georgia is seeking a reliable dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and organization of all china, glass, and silverware during service. You will operate and monitor the dishwashing area, ensuring safe handling and timely preparation of back-of-house items.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, and utensils and place them in racks for the dish machine.

• Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
• Notify the manager if the dish machine cycle falls below safety temperatures.

Summary of Position

Dishwashers are responsible for the cleaning and organization of all china, glass, silver, and back of house small-wares and equipment under the guidance of the Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager or Sous Chefs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
• Change the dishwater in the dish machine every hour.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
• Remove trash and garbage to a dumpster.
• Set up or break down the dishwashing area.
• Clean and roll/unroll mats.
• Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
• Sweep/mop floors.
• Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
• Sweep up trash around the exterior of the restaurant and garbage dumpster.
• Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
• Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
• Notify the manager anytime the dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
• Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
• Any other duties directed by the Kitchen Manager and/or General Manager.

This job operates in a kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks and dishwashers and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. This job operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef’s knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
