Job summary

Fremont Economic Development Corp. seeks a dependable Dishwasher/Prep Cook to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen while assisting with food preparation. The role emphasizes sanitation, proper FIFO usage, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting at our Colorado facility.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, a Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain), and is willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Restaurant or food service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing & sanitation: wash, sanitize, and store all dishes, glassware, flatware, cookware, and utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, floors, drains, and surrounding areas.
• Remove trash and recycling and maintain clean waste disposal areas.
• Assist in keeping kitchen clean, including sweeping, mopping, and routine cleaning tasks.
• Ensure cleaning chemicals are handled and stored safely.
• Food preparation: prepare ingredients, chops, portions, and labeling per chef specs.
• Assist with basic food prep for service, banquets, and events.
• Rotate food using FIFO and store items safely at proper temperatures.
• Notify kitchen leadership of low inventory or equipment issues.
• Work with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking deliveries.
• Support opening and closing kitchen procedures.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain
