Key Responsibilities:

• Cleans, sanitizes, and properly stocks all dishes, pots, pans, flatware, and glassware.
• Maintains cleanliness of the entire kitchen, including dry storage and walk-in cooler, sweeping and mopping.
• Empties kitchen trash receptacles and disposes of garbage properly.
• Performs daily cleaning of dry storage, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods, and exhaust systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Prep Cook Responsibilities:

• Follow recipes and product directions for proper food preparation.
• Maintain quality control by monitoring product freshness daily.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Prepare equipment for cooking.
• Operate kitchen utensils and equipment for various food preparation tasks.
• Follow proper food handling procedures, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperatures.
• Receive and inventory food, beverage products, and supplies.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stand, use hands, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Regularly walk and reach. Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally.

Environment/Noise:

Work in extreme heat and near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally work in cold, wet, humid conditions, near chemicals, or outdoors. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

Food Safety and Sanitation Training required.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read and speak English, as communication with English-speaking customers or co-workers may be required, and manuals are in English.
