Job description

Job Purpose:

The Dishwasher is primarily responsible for maintaining sanitation and cleanliness by properly collecting and supplying cooking tools, equipment, and provisions needed for kitchen staff to produce high-quality, safe, and compliant food. The Dishwasher also manages waste disposal, identifies worn or broken equipment, and replenishes cleaning and sanitation stations. Additionally, the Dishwasher will cross-train to prepare cold and hot foods during off-peak times, supporting production while adhering to the same sanitary standards as the chefs.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, mop floors, clean equipment, and perform related tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of break rooms and restrooms.
  • Regularly clean refrigerated areas.
  • Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Assist with other kitchen duties during busy periods.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitized kitchen environment by setting quat-sanitizer stations, monitoring temperature logs, using gloves, and following food safety practices.
  • Operate dishwashers, pressure washers, steam cleaners, and calibrate chemical systems.
  • Organize warehouse and walk-in produce areas.
  • Remove trash and waste.
  • Work closely with Chefs to ensure compliance with ACW sanitation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Kitchen experience and basic food knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to follow orders, work well in a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and highly motivated.
  • Willingness to assist in food prep and presentation when needed.

Operational Demands:

  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stoop, stand for long periods, walk, read orders, and communicate with co-workers.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Good judgment and ability to understand and follow instructions in various formats.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate to loud noise levels typical of kitchen settings.
