Job description

Position: Part‑time Dishwasher (St. Mary’s College of Maryland)

Location: St. Mary’s College of Maryland, 16800 Point Lookout Road, Saint Mary’s City, MD 20686. Online applications only.

Schedule: Part time; days and hours may vary. Evening and weekend availability required. Details upon interview.

Pay: $15.61 per hour (fixed rate). Pay is supplemented by $50 safety shoe allowance and free shift meal and uniform.

Job Summary

Maintain dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen and work areas, equipment and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine as per assigned equipment. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Wash pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polish silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth as per assigned equipment and procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
• Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers. Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Help load and unload supplies and products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
